Summit was taken from me all too early and unexpectedly. She went into kidney failure and initial necropsy indicated renal dysplasia. A second examination by another pathologist does not support those findings, however, so I am back to wondering what actually caused her death.

Summit was a big "Star" in the household. She went to her first all-breed puppy match at 3 1/2 months old and came home with Best In Match! She finished easily from the BBE class with 2 supported entry majors, one as a 7mo old puppy! Her wins include BOB over specials while being very sporadically shown, sharing handling time with her 2 sisters. She won 1st place in the Senior Bitch class of the 2009 Eastern Futurity, breeder-owner handled. She and her granddam, Edge, showed as a pair in the first ever Breeder's Showcase event at the Santa Barbara KC show in 8/09 and earned a Sporting Group Award of Merit....from an entry of over 30 sporting breed pairs and the only one of three Weim pairs to make it through the cut. She won Best of Breed BBE at the 2009 Eukanuba National Championships, and can be seen competing in those groups from the AKC website. She was specialing in 2010, had taken BOBs over several Top Ranked Weim Specials, and was making the grade in tough So Cal Sporting Groups. She also earned 2 Field Trial pts, and was showing great potential to finish her DC title. She earned her NRD, with the best ''dock dog" water entry for the day! She was enthusiastic about everything we did together.

Summit had outstanding angulation and forechest, with excellent neck and bone. She had a beautiful head, clean movement and a great show attitude. She was extremely birdy with lots of drive, a strong nose and a big run. She was everything I want my Weims to be.

I believe that she was too good for us here on earth and the Dog God wanted her back. In the Heaven created especially for Summit, you can run and run and never get tired; you never go birdless; the gunners never miss; and no one ever trims your toenails... She is very happy there. While here on earth, I still cry for her every day.
